Abstract

Diane Bish (b. 1941) was born in Wichita, Kansas and moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1971 to become the Senior Organist/Artist in Residence for the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, a post she held until 1991. In 1983 she began hosting her own television series. The first two chapters of the dissertation are a biographical sketch of Bish, from childhood in Kansas to the present. Special emphasis is given to the years of 1983 to 1992, the first ten years of The Joy of Music television series.The last four chapters contain the repertoire list, the index of locations, the index of performers, and the complete contents of the videos. Appendixes contain published and non-published editions of works, and a discography.
