Abstract

The literary work of Pablo Antonio Cuadra has been analyzed from the several viewpoints of Christianity, nature and myth. The present study is structured in three sections: the first is a quest of creativity, the second is spiritual search, and the third is pursuit of myths. This study demonstrates that the lyric of Cuadra attempts to seize otherness; in other words, it is a dialogue which seeks to unify the "I" and "We." The differences in these expressions are resolved through the usage of a plurality of masks. His lyric goes beyond the self, expanding towards the cosmos, overflowing the everyday limits of conscience and geographical space.
