Abstract

In the last few years many connections have been made between the dynamics of branes in string theory and the classical and quantum physics of gauge theories with different number of supersymmetries in different dimensions. This interconnection has provided many insights into string and field theory. We describe all the branes which appear in string theory in 10 and 11 dimensions from their Supergravity equations of motion. We check the field theory dualities by using different brane configurations. We obtain information about the moduli space of supersymmetric gauge theories.
