Abstract

The following is a creative thesis consisting of poetry composed and revised during the past two years as an MFA candidate at the University of Miami. The poems are an exploration of memory, imagination, and the places where these sometimes intersect or obscure each other. The work contained also attempts to examine identity and within this context, the roles of mother, wife, daughter, and human being, along with the anxieties stirred as a result. Their goal is to probe their subject with a humor meant to highlight absurdities and frustrations with a slightly skewed perspective.
