Abstract
The orchestral trombone sound of France, Germany, and the United States was analyzed through the lens of language. A thorough investigation of the characteristic sounds of each language were explored and compared with one another. Additionally, quantitative data was compiled by analyzing the frequency of vowel sounds in each language. The final portion of the research was dedicated to analyzing representative audio recordings of trombonists from France, Germany, and the United States.
